I know I haven't posted about it yet (been busy stomping on our old DBMS's throat) but a while ago my special lady and I decided we would get married in Jamaica.  We've been talking about for a long time, but now we've gone and booked it and everything.  It just seems like the best possible situation for us.  A bit more casual, and it should give everyone a few days to get to know each other before the wedding.  The only drawback is that it is more expensive for anyone who comes, but we like to think it will be worth it.  At least for people who like beaches and sun and things of that nature.

Up until last night though, I was overlooking one incredibly awesome benefit.  We were looking at bridesmaid and wedding dresses when it dawned on me.  What the fuck am I going to wear?  I'd already accepted the fact that a tux is unnacceptable beachwear with open arms, but that still leaves quite a wide array of fashion choices.  So, I did what I always do and turned to el goog (Beach Wedding Attire) and was presented with a wide array of sites to browse.

I haven't made any decisions yet, but it looks like the style of clothes required would be right out of Sonny Crockett's closet.  And when I say Sonny Crockett, of course I mean the real Crockett, not the impostor from that terrible movie!

I tried to find a Crockett costume for Halloween at Salvation Army once, but couldn't really get it together (Apparently linen suits aren't a big seller in Syracuse, who knew?) but it didn't turn out that well.  Apparently it looked good enough for my wife-to-be though.  Actually, given ensuing events it is probably more likely that she has permanent beer goggles 

This should make the shopping more exciting, provided I can find a pair of those shades!  I just hope they'll let me bring my pistol into the store to make sure its' a snug fit.
